Description A fundação da Fortaleza de Alandroal deveu-se a D. Lourenço Afonso, 9º Mestre da Ordem de S. Bento de Avis, em obediência ao rei D. Dinis e a sua construção terminou no ano de 1298. Parece, a admitir pelas inscrições góticas subsistentes nos seus membros, que foi seu arquitecto principal um artista muçulmano de nome Galvo.
