Title
Cast cu-alloy box-, casket- or book mount
Description
English: Probably a cast cu-alloy box-, casket- or book mount dating from the post-medieval period, i.e. c. AD1600-1800. It is a small mount which is bend at a right angle. The terminals are both round and show ferrous residue which suggests that the mount was attached to the casket or book with small iron rivets. The mount is undecorated. It is slightly curved on the obverse and flat (so as to rest against the book cover or casket surface) on the reverse. Dimensions: length: 20mm, width: 9mm, thickness: 3mm and weight: 3.26g.
