Title
Cast copper alloy fragment of a Colchester 2-piece type bow brooch
Description
English: Cast copper alloy fragment of a Colchester 2-piece type bow brooch, dating from c.75-200 AD.

Only the head remains with a small part of the bow. It is worn and corroded all over making the details unclear. The wings appear angular and enclosed. It was a hinged type with the axis bar inside the wings. The pin is now missing.

There is the remains of a stud on the top of the bow, it is rectangular and broken. On either side of the bow, close to the wings there are fragments of blue enamel which probably formed circles or scroll motifs.
