Description
English:

Cast copper alloy d-shaped buckle length 20mm, width 29mm, thickness 4.5mm, weight 4.66g. Expanded forward edge, the strap bar is narrowed and flanked by knop terminals. Although similar buckles to this are known from Early Medieval contexts, such as two examples from Whitby Abbey, they are very rare. This type of buckle is more typical of the 13th-15th century.
