Title
Cast copper alloy crotal bell.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy spherical or 'crotal' bell from the 18th century. The bell is complete and has a rectangular attachment loop at the top. The bell is divided with a raised median ridge. There are two circular sound holes on the upper half. Two sound holes in the lower half are joined by a linear perforation. On one side of the linear perforation, opposite the initials, there appears to be the top of a cross, this is incircled with the WG and lines radiate outwards from the circle. The initials WG refer to the maker and date to the 18th century. It appears to be in good condition.
