Title |
Cast copper alloy button dating to the Post-Medieval period, (1500-1700). |
||
Description |
English: Cast copper alloy button dating to the Post-Medieval period, (1500-1700). The button is circular in plan and flat. The upper surface is decorated with a central dot surrounded by an incised circle. On the reverse is a rectangular lug which contained a perforation for attachment. The attachment loop has broken. The object has a dark black patina and can be dated to the 17th century. A similar example can be found on p37, Bailey, (2004). |
