Description
English: Cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The object consists of a double loop oval buckle with a separate strap and pin bar. The main loop of the buckle is oval in plan and is incomplete due to an old break. The strap loop is rectangular and terminates in a long rectangular bar with projects at each end. The ends of the bar are rounded. Similar examples can be found on p.87, Whitehead, (2003). It has a mid-brown patina and can be dated from c.1350-1450.
