Title
Cast copper alloy brooch fragment dating to the Roman period.
Description
English: Cast copper alloy brooch fragment dating to the Roman period. The fragment is cruciform shaped in plan, flat and rectangular in cross-section. On the front of the fragment is an oval recessed panel. The remains of orange and blue enamel fill the panel. The orange appears to be the base colour while the blue, which is circular, forms the more detailed decoration. On the reverse of the fragment are the remains of a broken and worn down catchplate. The fragment is probably from a plate-brooch.
