English: Cast copper alloy Roman nail cleaner from the mid-late 3rd century AD.

The circular attachment loop at the top has broken. The body of the cleaner is long and rectangular. There is a widening of the body in the centre, it then narrows again towards the end. It ends in a 2 pronged terminal.

There is some decoration in the form of incised lines on one face. This is a Crummy Type 1a which date from the mid 1st century through to the 2nd century AD. c.f. no 1869 on page 58 of the Colchester report (Crummy; 1995)
