Cast copper alloy Georgian shoe buckle
Description
English: Large cast copper-alloy sub-rectangular Georgian shoe buckle dating from the early modern period, that is the 18th century. The buckle is complete except for the spindle and pin which are missing. The buckle frame is decorated with two moulded roundels on each of the short sides and two loops on either side of a roundel at top and bottom. The obverse of the frame is decorated with moulded dot and there remains some tinning in the gaps between the dots.
