Description
English: Cast bronze brackets probably dating from the late Iron Age to the Roman period. It is sub-rectangular in plan and semi-circular in section. Each end section flares outwards slightly, while the adjoining mid section is narrower.

Inside of the flared outer rim on each end is a raised moulded transverse line. A groove runs from each transverse moulding, towards the centre of the object and back inwards to the other end of the moulding.

The inner surface of the object is undecorated. It has a light green patina. It's function is unknown however use as shoulder mounts for stirrups, scabbard mounts or shield binding clips are possibilities.
