Description
English: Cast copper-alloy ?casket/chest mount. One end has a circle defined by a transverse ridge and with a narrow terminal with a rounded end. The other end is incomplete, but would have been flat and rectangular, with two rivet holes. The main length has three raised square panels, each with incised cross-hatching, which is now barely visible.Dull, dark brown/purple patina. No exact parallel has been found, but examples with similar elements have been discoveredd in London (Egan 1998, 72 nos. 147, 155 fig. 50) L: 59.5 W: 3.5-20 T: 1-4 Wt: 12.60g (fair)
