Summary
[edit]DescriptionCasino at Marino, showing open front door - geograph.org.uk - 1586356.jpg |
English: Casino at Merino [sic], showing open front door The Casino is a pavilion in the shape of a Greek temple. It was built around 1770 for the Earl of Charlemont for entertaining guests. It is intended to look as if the inside will be one large room, but in fact there are several rooms on several levels. When the front door is closed it looks as if it will open to the full height of the doorway, but when open as in the photo it is a smaller door to the ground floor rooms of the pavilion. |
