Summary
[edit]DescriptionCasfuwch-Castlebythe church - geograph.org.uk - 651373.jpg |
English: Casfuwch/Castlebythe church The strangest church I have seen: all that remains is little more than a footprint as the walls have been taken down to the height of about 5 feet all round. This is the eastern end with the cross marking the position of the altar.
Parish registers apparently record the last marriages here up until 1920, the last christening in 1959 and the last burial in 1980. The church was dedicated to St Michael and was rebuilt in 1875. What was the reason for its demolition? |
