Precipitation of casein protein by curdling whole milk.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Precipitation of casein protein by curdling whole milk. This yield is from 250 fresh whole milk. It is sprayed with cold water , squeezed dry and left overnight. It will then be mixed with water and calcium hydroxide ( or calcium carbonate). This binding medium will then receive dye or pigment to make casein paint. I produce azo dyes by "Grindstone " methodology ("Green") and take up dye with the casein binder. Some of the dyes will also form a so-called "lake pigment" which has properties differing from the parent dye. This research is directed toward the art community.
