Description
Português: A Casa de Cultura Jorge Amado fica localizada na Rua Jorge Amado, no centro da cidade. Fundada em 27 de Junho de 1997, durante a segunda gestão do prefeito Jabes Ribeiro, o palacete foi restaurado e hoje mantêm em exposição roupas, fotos, histórico dos pais e da infância, além de vídeos sobre o escritor.A casa onde o escritor passou parte da infância e adolescência foi construída em estilo neoclássico no final da década de 1920, por seu pai, João Amado Faria. O palacete ocupa uma área de 600 metros quadrados, com cinco metros de pé direito, piso de jacarandá e azulejos ingleses na varanda.
