Description
English: Casa Batlló is located at number 43 on Paseo de Gracia. Originally, the building was built in 1877 by Emilio Sala Cortés (one of Gaudí’s architecture professors), when there was still no electric light in Barcelona. In 1903 it was purchased by Mr Josep Batlló y Casanovas, a textile industrialist who granted full creative freedom to Antoni Gaudí, who fully reformed the house between 1904 and 1906.

Eredetileg az épületet 1877-ben Emilio Sala Cortés (Gaudi egyik építészprofesszora) építette, amikor még nem volt villanyvilágítás Barcelonában. 1903-ban vásárolta meg Josep Batlló y Casanovas, egy textiliparos, aki teljes alkotói szabadságot biztosított Antoni Gaudínak, aki 1904 és 1906 között teljesen megreformálta a házat.
