Photographs of palm trees on The English Riviera's beautiful and flourishing micro-climate. This picture was taken by flickr user Chris Sampson who has kindly allowed me to add it to my palm tree pictures here. This aerial shot was taken from the English Riviera Wheel that spent the summer here, thats the same wheel used at the 2012 London Olympics. This link will take you to the original photo: www.flickr.com/photos/lodekka/11691593436/ and here is a link to Chris's photostream: www.flickr.com/photos/lodekka/ Update 6th January SIGN THE PETITION There has been a petition set up to raise signitures to help save this open public space from been turned into a car park. It would be helpful if the developers and the council look again at car parking and come up with another solution. It would be wonderful if residents of Torbay and nearby places that enjoy the gardens, tourists that have enjoyed them in the past, and people that are planning trips to Torquay that would like the gardens to still be there would sign the petition and send the council and developers a message that we would not like to lose these beautiful gardens in any way. Its not everywhere in the UK that you could even have a palm garden in town like this one and that makes it even more special.
