English: Carved Bog Wood Matchsafe, ca. 1892
Description
English: Ovoid, with flat top surmounted by plated metal collar. Black/brown colored body features all over carved decoration of shamrock plants, "1892" carved into front, central reserve, the monogram "HR" carved into the reverse, central reserve. Flat, elongated, oval shaped, plated metal lid hinged on top of collar. Small, lozenge shaped, plated metal striker attached to underside of box.
