English: Detailed map of the seat of Fort William Henry in 1757 during the Seven Years' War. Map published in Germany around 1789, on the drawings of a French officer. Translation: Title: Attacks of Fort William Henry in America by troops under the command of the Marquis de Montcalm. Fort taken August 7, 1757. A: Fort William Henry. B: Opening of the trenches in the night of August 4th to 5th. C: Entrenched camp that the English went to occupy at the arrival of the French. D: Bay where the French landed their artillery. E: Battery of 8 guns and a mortar. F: Battery of 10 guns and a mortar. G: 6-gun battery that was not used. H: Position of Monsieur de Lévis during the attack on the fort. I: Position of the troops during the siege (in yellow, the French, in gray, the Indians). K: Position of the troops after taking the fort, during the demolition of the entrenchments made by the English.
