We were in carriage 5725. The Red Leaf carriages were originally built for the Canadian National Railway in the 1950s but have been refurbished to a modern standard. That said, the vestibule areas were looking a little tired, not that you'd spend much time in them. But the vestibule (where this was taken) had doors with huge windows that opened up to allow fresh air and, of course, the taking of photographs. On the train I heard that next year the company plan to replace the Red Leaf carriages with single deck domed ones, so this might be the last year 5725 gets to run in service. |
