Description
English: Carr House, near Bretherton This is now a private residence and was once a museum of childhood. The datestone reads 1613 but it is thought that the house dates from the 1500's. Here, in 1639, astronomer Jeremiah Horrocks first observed Venus in its journey across the sun.
