Festivities on the streets of Coita during the Parade of the 'Carnaval Zoque Coiteco 2020'

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Zoque Carnival of Ocozocoautla/Coita, which recalls ancient visions of the world, when it revolved around the cycle of life. Being born, growing up and dying to give life are all elements present in the festival, to which Spanish beliefs about the fight of good against evil are added. In addition, the festival evokes the battle of David against Goliath and the expulsion of the Moors from Spain, traditions deeply rooted in Ocozocoautla, which are a proud heritage of the ancestors.
