English: Carlisle Pier railway station (site), Dun Laoghaire Opened in 1859 as a short extension of the Dublin & Kingstown Railway, this was the terminus of the line for boat trains to/from Dublin "Westland Row" (now "Pearse") station. It closed in 1980 and the track was lifted shortly afterwards. The buildings were demolished in 2010. Kingstown was renamed Dun Laoghaire in 1921. View north east onto the pier from a similar position to O2428 : St Columba & train Carlisle Pier. |
