Description

Vice minister Carl Lindholm's thomb stone After the losses of the Russo-Swedish War, 1741-1743, the bishop of Porvoo Johan Nylander had lost some of the parishes because of the peace treauty of Turku, which states territorial gains to Russia, as Sweden started the war. To compensate the losses the bishop insested, that the parish of Myrskyla should become his annex parish, so that he could benefit the minister's pay, but also take care of the secular administative obligations. The representative of the lady of the manor squire of Myrskyla opposed the idea by claiming that the manor squire has the patronate right to name the minister, so the bishop could not have the parish of Myrskyla as his annex parish. The documents did not confirm the claim and the bishops of Porvoo became the ministers of the parish of Myrskylä for more than a century from 1747 to 1865, when the system of the annex parishes was abolished and clerical and secular powers were separated on local governments.

Carl Lindholm served as a vicary minister of the parish of Myrskyla for the bishops Johan Molander and Gustav Ottelin in the parish.
