English:

Morgan J. Carkeek and his wife Emily lived in this mansion at the southeast corner of Boren Avenue and Madison St. The home was built in 1884, the same year this photo was taken. Both the Seattle Historical Society and the Seattle Tennis Club trace their beginnings to the Carkeek mansion. The home was demolished in 1934.
