Description
English: Careg Coetan, neolithic burial chamber, Newport / Trefdraeth An official Ancient Monument, this is a large capstone on three legs like a tripod which dips towards the Afon Nyfer estuary. Also known as Arthur's Quoit. The site is closely enclosed by hedges and trees but is unfortunately diminished and surburbanised by the nearby bungalows which you need to pass to reach it.

George Nash in "Neolithic Sites of Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire" (Logaston Press) describes is as a classic portal dolmen once incorporated into a long mound. There are still traces of this mound.

Here's an aerial view; it is the white blob in what looks like a garden behind the bungalows on Feidr Pen-y-Bont:
