The Association for the Aid of Crippled Children of NewYork has done pioneer work in the propagation of the idea thatorganizations working for crippled children must have not onlystandards of physical and educational care, but social standards aswell. The service of such organizations is not only in the workthey themselves do directly, but in their power of forcing upon theattention of the surgical world and of all other persons workingfor cripples, the essential fact that the development of a crippledchild, as of any child, must be regarded as a whole, includingphysical, mental, and also moral and social growth. The Russell Sage Foundation will cheerfully furnish specificinformation to anyone who is contemplating the development ofany form of work for crippled children. i6
