||
Description |
This object is used to treat cardiospasm or oesophageal achalasia. This is where the lower part of the oesophagus (food pipe) becomes temporarily closed as the muscles go into spasm and cannot relax. Swallowing becomes impossible. The instrument is introduced into the mouth and by pulling the lever the dilator head widens in order to open the food pipe. maker: Unknown maker Place made: Germany Wellcome Images |
