| Description |
English: Car park and approach to Raglan Castle Cars simply park around the circular green, allowing visitors a tantalising glimpse of the upper parts of the magnificent remains of the fifteenth-century castle built around 1432 for Sir William ap Thomas, known as Y marchog glas o Went, (the blue knight of Gwent), and his son William Herbert. The castle was re-modelled by William Somerset, third earl of Worcester between 1549-89. The Great Gate, standing between two hexagonal towers, served as the main entrance. |
