Title |
Captain Sturt Houseboat |
|||
Description |
In Australia, PS Captain Sturt was a rare example of an American-built stern wheeler. By 1950 it no longer pushed barges along the River Murray and had been converted to a 'houseboat' for passengers. It then operated out of Goolwa. Source: Kit Bennet, Paddle Steamers of the Murray River, (2004), Lothian, Melbourne, pp. 144-145. Revised by J. Davis, 7 May 2008. |
