Description Capt. Todd Pearson performs pre-flight checks on an F-15 Eagle Sept. 13 at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Fla., during the Celestial Eagle Remembrance Flight. Captain Pearson is with the 390th Fighter Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. Captain Pearson's father, retired Maj. Gen. Doug Pearson, flew the exact same F-15, now assigned to the 125th Fighter Wing at Homestead, exactly 22 years prior while accomplishing the only successful satellite kill by an aircraft launched missile in history.
