Description
Español: Ricardo Velázquez Bosco, arquitecto del Ministerio de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes, y de la confianza de Alfonso XII, restaura la cripta real (1923). En ella, los ataudes, deficientemente identificados de Pedro I de Castilla y su esposa María de Padilla; infante Fadrique Alfonso (o Alonso) de Castilla, 1333-1358; Alfonso de Castilla, 1359-1362, y Juan de Castilla y Castro, 1355-1405. El 18 de noviembre de 1362, Pedro I testa: Quando finamiento de mi acaeriere, mando que mi cuerpo sea llevado a Sevilla, e que sea enterrado en la capilla nueva que yo agora mando hacer, y que pongan la reina doña María, mi muger, del un cabo a la mano derecha, y del otro a la mano izquierda al infante don Alonso mi hijo primer heredero: e que vistan el mi cuerpo de habito de San Francisco, y lo entierren en el; e mando para reparar la torre de Santa María de Sevilla tres mil doblas de oro castellanas
  • La referida Santa María de Sevilla es la primitiva mezquita de Abu Ya′qūb Yūsuf transformada en catedral mudéjar, hasta el 8 de julio de 1401 que se decide sustituirla por la actual gótica.
