| Description |
Spring in New Zealand is characterised by extremes - and those extremes can be concentrated into very small areas. Thus dark storm clouds and bright sun are not all that unusual close together. What really made me stop and take this as I zoomed in my rental car from the airport to my business appointment (well, to be quite honest my zooming was interrupted quite a few times by the incessant frustrated squeaking noises that my camera often seems to make) - was the juxtaposition of a wild sky and a calm sea. This happened because that storm isn't coming - it's going - and this bay was sheltered by the high ground of the cape from the strong southerly that had battered our flight all the way from Wellington.
