A slice of a graphite nodule from the Canyon Diablo Meteorite.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A 7.2 gram slice of a graphite nodule from the Canyon Diablo Meteorite. The graphite nodules from the Canyon Diablo meteorite tend to be larger than those of other iron meteorites. The metal veins running through this specimen were injected into the graphite from a collision, probably with another asteroid in outer space, although the collision with Earth has not been ruled out.
