| Description |
Located in the north Quire aisle, this is the second typological window, and the best preserved. Dating from around 1180, it contains glass from to other windows, and may have been designed by the so-called Methuselah Master. The upper panels are in their original positions, the lower panels have been bought from other windows. At the top the Magi are depicted, with Herod in the next row down. Below this, the adoration of the Magi and Solomon with the Queen of Sheba. The right-hand panel shows Joseph and his brothers. The middle row again shows the Magi being warned in a dream, and Lot's escape from Sodom. The next row depicts The Presentation along with Eli receiving Samuel. The right-hand panel depicts the Parable of the Sower. This is also shown in the middle lower panel. The good ground is depicted by three righteous men - Job, Daniel, and Noah. Also depicted is another parable and the Three sons of Noah. |
