Description

In this panel, Saint Thomas is seen above as a sword-bearing avenger because the vow that Jordan made to go on pilgrimage to Canterbury has not been kept and the leper's message was ignored. His elder son now lies dead in the centre, between the grieving father on the left and the mother on the right, while three members of the household gesticulate in horror, the mourners too ill to get up.
