Description

Cure of a woman - Juliana Puintel was wife of Sir Robert Puintel of Essex. She had eaten bad fish and became very ill. St Thomas appears in a vision, telling her to visit his shrine. "VISCERE TORQVAETVR CITAT HIC OFFERRE IVBEVTR" (She is tormented in her bowels, he summons her, she is bidden to make an offering).

She visits and offers a coil of silver wire to give thanks for the cure. "EXILIT A SOMNIS OFFERT DOLOR EXCIDIT OMNITV" (She leaps up from her sleep and makes an offering; all the pain falls away).
