Title
cannon ball
Description
English: A probable cast iron cannon ball dating from the post Medieval period around 1500-1700AD. It is small in size suggesting it could have been used in a Rabinet, the smallest of the English Standard Sizes of cannon. These type of cannons were used in the 17th century (Blackmore 1990 Arms and Armour of the English Civil Wars, Royal Armouries p. 83). It has a diameter of 36.70mm, weight 193.7g. A similar example is SUSS-CA5D04 on the PAS database.
