Title
English: Cannon Mine trestle across Green River and mount of mine, Franklin, ca. 1915.
Description
English:

The mouth of the Cannon Mine, in Franklin, Washington, was located deep in the Green River Gorge. After workers brought coal out of the mine on coal cars, they hauled it across the river on a bridge and then hoisted it up the hill to the coal bunkers above. After it was cleaned and sorted, the coal was loaded on railroad cars bound for Seattle. This photo shows the mine mouth and bridge at the Cannon Mine, on the Green River in Franklin. The Cannon Mine began operation in 1913 and closed in 1924.
