English: Cannon Brewery, Rutland Road, Neepsend, Sheffield - 1 William Stones started brewing in the 1860s in Shalesmoor, an area not far from the pictured location. A few years later he formed a partnership with another brewer called Watts, and together they took over the brewery of Shepherd, Green and Hatfield ... They renamed this and it became the famed "Cannon Brewery" at Neepsend. The picture shows just part of this large brewery - now closed and empty since 1999 - located in the triangle formed by Neepsend Lane, Boyland Street and Rutland Road.
