| Description |
English: The Carron Company of Falkirk cast this cannon and presented it to Dunfermline Town Council. Its purpose was to influence the Council to favour Carron's application to open iron foundries in the Dunfermline area. As there were foundries already in the area, permission was refused. The cannon has stood at the door of the Town House and later the City Chambers since 1772. |
