English: Line of resting goods engines at Canklow (Rotherham) Locomotive Depot. View northward, the Shed being behind camera: a line of ex-LMS (mainly Midland) 0-6-0s and 0-6-0Ts are lined up on a Sunday, including 4F No. 4128, 3F No. 43817, 2F No. 22965 and three 0-6-0Ts (the one at the end being a very old one with half-cab; note that the first engine has not acquired its initial '4' and others still have 'LMS' insignia. Canklow Shed (code 19C) had an allocation of 53 locomotives, virtually all for the heavy freight traffic of the nearby Masborough Sorting Sidings along the 'Old Road', Chesterfield - Rotherham. The Depot closed on 11/10/65. |
