Bahasa Indonesia: Candi Jawi adalah salah satu candi terunik di Indonesia. Candi yang terletak di Pandaan - Pasuruan, merupakan candi yang ditujukan untuk memuja raja terakhir Singosari, Kertanegara. Beliau dipuja sebagai Wairocana, dewa tertinggi agama Budha. Keunikan candi terletak pada bangunan fisik dimana tubuh candi merupakan ciri khas candi Hindu namun bagian atap bermahkota sebuah stupa sebagai simbol agama Budha. Hal ini karena semasa hidupnya, raja Kertanagera memadukan 2 agama Hindu dan Budha dalam praktek agamanya. Selain keunikan fisik candi, juga adanya kolam yang melingkar sekeliling candi sebagai simbol samudra dalam konsep filosofi alam raya agama Hindu dan Budha. Candi Jawi juga dianggap sebagai perwujudan gunung Meru sebagai obyek paling suci dalam agama Hindu dan Budha, sehingga secara keseluruhan kompleks candi Jawi adalah pusat alam raya dalam konsep filosofi tersebut. |
