Español: Canalización del río San Francisco, entre 1917 y 1941. La suciedad del cauce obligó a la obra.
La ley 10 de 1915 ordenó la canalización de los ríos San Francisco y San Agustín, y en sus cauces terraplenados surgieron las avenidas Jiménez y Calle 7ª. En 1938, quedaría listo el primer tramo de la Jiménez. Este iría desde el oriente hasta la carrera 7.ª. Entre 1938 y 1941 se prolongarían las labores, bajo la alcaldía de Germán Zea, para extender el corredor hasta la plaza de San Victorino. |
