The equalization places 46,900lb. on the leading truck, 164,600 lb. ondrivers, and 48,500 lb. on the trailingtruck. Wheels, Boxes, Rods, etc.—The driv-ing wheel centers, 62 in. diam., are ofcast steel; the driving boxes are of caststeel with bronze bearings, the maindriving boxes being of the Cole longtype. Franklin adjustable driving boxwedges are used with all driving boxes.Brass hub liners are used, and Franklinhard grease cellars are applied through-out. All rods are of hammered openhearth steel. The main rod big ends fol-low closely the specifications for the U.S. Railroad Administration standard Pa-cific type locomotives.
