On each side of the steps aropillars made from a length of stove pipecovered with white cotton, with blocksof wood top and bottom, covered withturkey red cotton. On top of each ofthese five pillars we placed a cheese boxcover, covered with white and trimmedwith holly. These all filled with differ-ent kinds of candy, which we sell at spe-cial prices during Christmas season, each signed and dressed the window himself,writes regarding it: The centre-piece, you will notice, isin the shape of a wheel, set at an angleof 45 degrees.
