the demand for hardwood-borne improvement is reported in the demand for hemlock, especiallvin small lots. Shingles and lath are unchanged, but the demand isgood. Southern pine is not showing any improvement. The bettorgrades of northern pine are in small demand, but a fair business is re-ported in the common trade. A slight improvement is reported in thenorthern pine trade at Tonawanda. Shingles and lath are not show-ing any improvement. Small orders for hemlock are frequent. Thehardwood market is rather poor.
