I could not find the identifier in the database; the monument was only unveiled a week or two ago, so I used the Library of Parliament; you will need to edit the identifier when it becomes known.
This is monument is designed to honor the Firefighters who have died in Canada in the line of duty. The statue is of a Firefighter beside a fire pole. The Firefighter is pointing at a group of slabs into which 1,000 of their dead are named.
I'll add GPS information when I get a chance.
I added them as Category: Canadian Heroes. 'Cause that's what I call anyone who runs into a burning building to save people, pets, or property. And these guys died one of those three things.
It's a somber memorial, and though I was there once during the day, I thought it would look best at dusk, since it faces west, and the office towers and Parliament Buildings are glinting in the east, some of the glints almost looking like fires, evoking images of "The Towering Inferno" and other incredibly dangerous situations they walk into.
Imagine how scary a house fire must be. Imagine it again if you don't know the layout of the building you're walking into.
I'm not a professional photographer, nor do I have any personal connection to Firefighters, I simply admire them.
If any Wikipedia volunteers are professional photographers in Ottawa, by all means, send them out.
At dusk.
If I win anything, please donate it to any Canadian Fire Service, preferably one who has lost a member keeping us safe - and that member's grieving family.
(Selfishly, don't tell me about it if I won. LOL)
