Burgess-Dunne Model BD-1B seaplane, 1914

First canadian military aircraft in WWI

When Canadian troops left for Europe on September 30, 1914, the Burgess-Dunne Model BD-1B seaplane war loaded onto the S.S. Athenia for England. On the trip the aircraft was heavily damaged and was no longer flyable.
